The Power of Positive Thinking, The Will to Change Your Life

So many people are pigeonholed into careers and roles that they never feel truly passionate about and they feel angst and regret for the life they should have lived or could have lived.

I want to send a message to our youth to our children and to our current working force women and men that YOU ARE MORE THAN!  You are worth more, you were made for more… I am not talking about mothers and fathers being unhappy in their domestic roles or about the workforce being undriven in their current positions.

DRIVE IS NOT THE SAME AS PURPOSE

I am talking about being COMPLACENT to accept their career, their ladder to success, their daily monotony… Even the most successful business women and men are NOT walking in their purpose, do NOT feel a fire in their hearts and are NOT fulfilled in their invested time at work.

They go to work. They come home. They often even work once they are at home. But they NEVER feel at peace. No matter how high they climb or how hard they try, or how many promotions they get… something is ALWAYS MISSING.

WHY you ask?!?

WHY would I make such a bold statement? How dare I?

Well just ASK THEM. Or better yet, ask yourself:

What is the desire of my heart?

What was I created to do?

When do I feel the most alive?

NOW ask :

Am I fulfilling that desire?

Am I using that gift to do what I was created to do?

Am I impacting the world in a positive way?

Am I fulfilled?

What was your answer?  Do you want to answer yes to all those big life questions?

What if I told you, YOU CAN!  You can live out your HIGHEST purpose in this world and still make lots of money, or have personal success or emotional happiness.  You do not have to choose between being successful and being happy. You can have it all. Seriously I am not pulling your chain, I’ve been there.

Actually I’ve been in all of the roles imaginable, I am a mom and wife and I’ve stayed home while my hubby worked, I’ve worked part time, full time, I’ve been completely broke, had immense business success and had great financial gain, I’ve been restless and  lost and had small to large regrets, I’ve been walked on, passed up and even unknown by my boss who I’ve centered my world around.

  One day I asked myself “what kind of example am I setting for my kids if I let them see me like this?”

Like a deflated balloon someone is dragging around by the string!?!

What message does that send them?

So I decided NO MORE Mrs. Nice Girl. No more pulling my string. No more regrets, no more excuses.  I DECIDED to take the reigns and put all the positive energy I could muster out into the universe (the universe=Gods plan=fate=whatever you believe insert it here), into every single aspect of my life.  Into every person I meet, every hater I encounter, every obstacle I cross and every thing I do, I do it with POSITIVITY.  Do you know what happens when you put positivity into the universe?

Positivity comes back to you, 10 fold, 20 fold, Hell I don’t even know how much but a heck of a lot of positivity!

In the form of personal growth, financial gain, self confidence, self love, marital bliss, parenting success, emotional stability, relational peace… you name it, you will receive it. All by putting your very best positive foot forward in this world.

  Do you struggle with where to start?  How to be postitive?  Well I have a few tried and true tips for you! Follow these simple steps to get started, and see your life change before your eyes!

  1. Meet EVERYONE with a smile, not just those who deserve a smile, not just those who smile at you, but everyone you encounter
  2. Don’t allow others to dictate your actions or feelings, you are not a balloon on a string, do not act like it
  3. Choose your battles, I mean really choose them… Is it worth it to win the arguement about who left the dishes in the sink, when it means fighting for an hour about everything in between?  Probably not, you know what you could do with that hour?  Take 2 minutes and rinse the stupid dishes, politely ask whoever you think left them there to try and not do it in the future, then spend the rest of the 57 or so minutes talking about positive things going on in your life, connecting and conversing – building a relationship and meeting the world with positivity
  4. Don’t say things you don’t want repeated
  5. If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything.  Seems pretty basic right?  But it is probably one of the hardest things to really do…Even in frustration, in total stress-dom, speak in kindness, speak criticism from a place of love and safety…believe me you and they will be much happier
  6. Stand up for others
  7. Take time for yourself EVERY DAY – a minimum of 10 minutes, totally for yourself…not locking yourself in the bathroom and playing a game on your phone, but turning off the world for 10 whole minutes and focus on your goals with total and complete positivity
  8. Put what you want into the universe, and the universe will deliver it…speak your goals out loud, say them to someone, make them real and known and present
  9. Lastly and most importantly BE KIND – above all else treat everyone with kindnessSounds easy enough right? You cannot achieve your purpose and greatness if you do not own your drive and dream – the universe simply CANNOT give you the desires of your heart if you do not give them to the universe!

So what are you waiting for?  Your mind is a powerful force, when you fill it with positive thoughts, your life will start to change… go change your life.

Wildberry Superfood Smoothie! 

  Today’s concoction is super simple and very kid friendly!  

  1. 4 whole frozen strawberries
  2. 1/4 cup frozen blueberries 
  3. 1/4 cup ice
  4. 1/2 cup water
  5. 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
  6. 1 scoop Greenberry superfoods
  7. Blend and enjoy! 

This is a scrumptious healthy berry snack with little effort for a strong berry kick!

1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk

Banana Peanutbutter Cup Superfood Milkshake

Today’s Recipe of the Day! Banana Peanutbutter Cup Superfood Milkshake! Seriously amazing!

1/2 frozen banana cup into chunks
1 tbsp peanut butter
1/4 cup vanilla unsweetened almond milk
1/4 cup chocolate almond milk ( sub with unsweetened to make Fix friendly😉)
1 scoop chocolate superfoods
6 ice cubes
Blend and ENJOY!

Tastes like an ice cream shake and fills you up like a meal, and has less calories and more nutrients than a drawer full of produce!

Wake Up and Smell the Coffee

Do you ever have one of those mornings when you can’t even wait for the pot to finish brewing before you need to get your delicious dark roast in your cup?!?

NOW LET ME ASK YOU…

Do you ever look at other people and think:

“How do they do it all?”

“How do they find the time?”

“Aren’t they exhausted?”

“No way could I do that!”

“I don’t have time

Let me just say … I call BULLSHIT.

I am sorry but I do… “Bullshit mama”

We all have busy lives, all moms have kids with different schedules, all dads have kids with different needs, all marriages need love and relationship, all grandparents are asked to help with different things, all jobs require work, all friends require time and all relationships require emotional and physical commitment!

WE. ALL. HAVE. 24 HOURS. EVERY. DAY.

So are you sitting on Instagram, twitter, Facebook or even this article and thinking, “How does she have the time to write this?”

You are not alone! Sometimes I wonder the same thing.

But let me tell you, WE ALL STRUGGLE.

Life is rough some days, and we all have our own trials, none more important than another, none more difficult than another, just different walks of life with different problems, stresses and time demanding crap.

I woke up this morning at 5:45am, not by choice, I hate mornings and love sleep.  My kids however seem to feel the opposite.  I decided to get my work out in – I DECIDED, being the key words.  The old me would have laid down on the couch, turned on a cartoon and possibly even fallen back to sleep.  Then later in the day I would have made more excuses about being tired and not working out. Then I would have sat on my social media and thought all those self excusing thoughts we just talked about!

Not TODAY.  Today I worked out. Then I brewed a much needed cup of coffee and found myself impatient and unable to wait for the pot to finish brewing…I mean, how ridiculous is that!?!  I couldn’t wait for the pot to finish brewing, really?  Talk about instant gratification 🙂

THE POINT IS:

Everyone has those days, everyone has a reason not to work out, everyone has a reason not to eat right and everyone has a reason not to take care of themselves.  Those reasons are strong and you can’t let them hold you back from your best self! Don’t think that because I post cute work out pics and yummy food that my life is easy or that I have more time than you.

Making time for yourself is much harder than making excuses.

I MAKE the time I have and I PRIORITIZE my health and my personal development above all else.  You can too.

I go to bed after midnight every night.

I have kids that sleep in my bed.

I have kids that wake me up at the buttcrack of dawn.

I have a husband that works nights and sleeps days.

I have a family and lots of friends that I spend time with.

I have a business that I run from home.

I have 3 dogs and a cat and a mortgage and bills and debt and all the other adulting crap you have.

BUT…I have DECIDED that above all that, I WILL make time for myself and my health.  And some days that means I don’t even have time to let the pot of coffee finish brewing 🙂

Do you prioritize your life?  Do you schedule time for yourself?  For your faith? For your fitness and health?  For your sanity!?!

My advice to you today is open your calendar app or your planner and SCHEDULE just 10 MINUTES EVERY DAY for the next 7 days, JUST FOR YOU.  It may mean squeezing 10 minutes in, in your car between soccer practice and dance, it may mean staying up 10 minutes later, or getting up 10 minutes earlier.  But find the time to invest at least 10 minutes in yourself every day.  Even if it means you won’t have those extra minutes to wait for the coffee to brew…you will have extra confidence, energy and passion for life…I think it’s a fair trade!

Just make the time and commitment to yourself, the same way you make time commitments to EVERY ONE ELSE!  You deserve it!

 

 

Almond Joy Superfood Iced Latte

Ahhhmazing!

I wanted to try something new so I threw together this awesome new beverage, with the help of my trusty 5 year old side kick!

Do you love Almond Joy candy bars?  Or coconut? Or chocolate?  Or coffee?

THEN YOU WILL LOVE THIS!

  1. Fill your shaker cup with ice
  2. Add 1 cup coffee
  3. Add 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (vanilla is a great choice!)
  4. Add 1/2 tsp coconut extract or flavoring
  5. Add your Superfood
    1. 1/2 scoop vanilla
    2. 1/2 scoop chocolate
  6. Shake and enjoy!

Faith and Fitness

I am passionate about faith.

I am passionate about fitness.

Well actually I am passionate about a lot of things….

Pizza. Wine. Stretchy Pants. Uggs. Sweaters that fit like blankets. Family. Friends. Coffee. Holistic Health. The Oregon Coast…the list goes on and on…BUT… None of it matters without my Faith and my Fitness.

Faith is one of my gifts.  Over the past 10 years I have developed a pretty rock solid relationship with God. I believe in Him and His plan above all else. I have been through hard times, ups and downs, and He is always a constant and never-failing source of my positive thinking.  I know beyond a doubt that my relationship with Him is the most important relationship in my life. I love my husband more every day than I did the day before.  I love children more than any human could ever fully understand…BUT God gets it.  Because that is how HE. LOVES. US.

-MIND BLOWN-

I mean, once I got that, my Faith was solidified, like, poured in a vat of cement and connected to my heart FOR-EV-ER!

Don’t get me wrong, the enemy still tries to attack that cement with a sledgehammer but thanks to my relationship with Christ, he can’t touch my heart or my Faith. And I am pretty sure he hates that 😉

Thanks to my faith in The Lord, I can pursue my purpose in this world with complete and total certainty that I am right where I am meant to be.

HE MAKES IT VERY CLEAR WHEN I AM NOT. 😉

After much prayer, lots of trials and many failures – all of which led to enormous lessons that I use to this day – I am finally in my purpose.

I am talking HEART ON FIRE – CRAZY HAPPY – WILLING TO WORK FOR FREE – DO IT EVERY MINUTE YOU CAN – purpose.  Do you know what that feels like?

For me my purpose is helping others accomplish their dreams, or rather figure out what the heck their dream and purpose is, and then help them achieve it! Help them get time back for themselves!  Take time to focus on themselves! Accomplish things they never even knew they could! Sounds pretty cool right?  YEAH. IT. IS.

And you know what is at the center of all of it?

Health and FITNESS! A fit body, mind and soul…Start with the body and the others will follow – seriously!

Doing something you never thought your body could do = AMAZING FEELING.

Losing weight you never thought you could lose = AMAZING FEELING.

Wearing a size you never thought you would wear = AMAZING FEELING.

Overcoming an addiction you never thought you would = AMAZING FEELING.

ARE YOU SEEING THE COMMON DENOMINATOR HERE? dO YOU SEE WHY i LOVE MY JOB?

 

Once you accomplish something, 1 SMALL thing, that you never thought you could…You start to believe you can accomplish another one, and another one, and another one…and pretty soon you are blowing your own damn mind! Fitness is so crucial to a healthy life and an active body and mind.  Fitness.

Faith and Fitness.

 

So my advice to you:  BLOW. YOUR. DAMN. MIND.
